The File Properties function accesses the properties of the current file. All the information contained in the File Properties is read-only data such as the location, size and other statistics about the file. To view a file’s properties, click the File Properties button in the Options Toolset of the File Ribbon with the desired file as the active edit window.
Depending on the type of file active when this dialog is open, different tabs may appear with additional information regarding the file.
Contains generic information. This tab is available for all file types and is the default tab displayed upon opening the File Properties dialog.
Displays path information about the file.
a. Name
Displays the name of the file.
b. Location
Displays the full path to the file.
c. MS-DOS Name
Displays the name of the file in MS-DOS format.
Contains statistics regarding the file.
a. Status
Displays the current status of the file.
b. Size
Displays the size of the file in kilobytes. The file size in bytes is shown within parenthesis.
c. Create Time
Displays the day, date and time the file was originally created.
d. Modified Time
Displays the day, date and time of the last instance in which the file’s contents were modified.
e. Attributes
Displays the attributes of the open file, such as “Archive”, “Hidden” or “Read-only”, as set in the Windows Explorer File Properties dialog. Please refer to the Windows operating manual for more information on what attributes can be set for files.
f. Type
Displays the type of file. This area contains an expanded name rather than the file extension.
Press the ‘OK’ or ‘Cancel’button to close the File Properties dialog.
