Uninstalling SEC Publisher

Note: If upgrading SEC Publisher from version 5.5.0.70 or earlier to version 6, follow these steps before installing a new version of SEC Publisher. If SEC Publisher 6 is already installed, you can install to a newer version of SEC Publisher 6 and the installer will automatically uninstall the existing version before installing the new version.

Follow the steps given below to uninstall SEC Publisher:

  1. Close all applications. Go to Task Manager and if ‘Acrobat.exe’ or ‘AdobeUpdater.exe’ are running in the Processes tab, end these processes.

  1. If you want to transfer the Standard (non-Dongle) license to a different machine, please see 'Licensing and Upgrading SEC Publisher' to deactivate the product before moving to the next step. Otherwise, skip this step if you are upgrading to a newer version.

  1. Go to Control Panel > Add/remove programs or Programs and Features (depending on your version of Windows). Click BCL SEC Publisher and click Remove or Uninstall. If the Uninstall appears to have stalled, check if there is a dialog box behind the Uninstall status, prompting the following:

This will completely unregister the product with the license server. Do you want to continue?”

If you do receive this, select ‘Yes’. You will also see an additional message:

Product has been unregistered. The Application will now close.”

Click ‘OK’ to close the message dialog and to continue with the uninstall process.

  1. If you have been using the Dongle version of SEC Publisher, unplug the Dongle, go to Control Panel > Add/remove programs or Programs and Features (depending on your version of Windows). If you see Wibu Key Setup, click Remove or Uninstall to uninstall the Dongle driver.

If no errors were reported, you have successfully uninstalled SEC Publisher.
